A Clear Alternative to Metal Braces

One of the biggest concerns people have about traditional braces is how they'll look during treatment. For adults especially, the idea of wearing metal brackets and wires for months or years can feel discouraging. Invisalign® offers a nearly invisible way to straighten your teeth—no metal required.

Invisalign treatment uses a series of custom-made clear aligning trays. We change your trays every few weeks as your teeth gradually shift into their new positions. Because the trays are removable, you can take them out for important occasions, meals, and brushing. The treatment timeline is partly in your control, and many patients report complete satisfaction with both the process and their beautiful results.

What Bite Problems Can Invisalign® Correct?

Invisalign corrects the same dental problems as traditional metal braces. The difference is that Invisalign trays are almost invisible and fully removable.

We commonly use Invisalign to treat:

  • Overcrowding – When there's too little space for teeth to align normally. Overcrowding can lead to tooth decay and increase your risk of gum disease.

  • Large gaps between teeth – Sometimes caused by missing teeth or abnormal jaw growth.

  • Crossbite – When one or more upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth, causing uneven wear that can lead to bone erosion and gum disease.

  • Overbite – When upper teeth project too far forward or completely cover the lower teeth, potentially leading to jaw pain and TMJ issues.

  • Underbite – When lower teeth project further than the upper teeth, which can also cause jaw pain and TMJ problems over time.

How Invisalign® Compares to Traditional Braces and Veneers

Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces

The main difference is that Invisalign trays are fully removable. This requires more discipline and commitment from you, but most patients find the trays comfortable and love that they're nearly invisible. Both treatments can achieve almost identical results.

Invisalign vs. Veneers

Invisalign actually straightens your teeth, while veneers are thin covers that we permanently bond to the tooth surface. Teeth must be etched before veneers are placed, so removing them later requires an alternative covering. Veneers can also break and typically last less than 20 years. For many patients, Invisalign is the better long-term solution.

What to Expect During Treatment

Planning Your Smile

We start by creating a detailed treatment plan using three-dimensional digital images of your entire jaw. This technology lets us move specific teeth on screen, view your jaw from different angles, and even show you what your smile will look like after treatment. You'll see how Invisalign will change your facial appearance before we even begin.

Your Custom Aligners

Once planning is complete, we create a unique set of aligners just for you. The total number varies by case, but most patients need 20 to 29 sets per arch.

Wearing Your Trays

It may take several days to a few weeks to get used to wearing your aligners. The most important factor for success is compliance—you must wear your aligners as directed to ensure the best results. Invisalign has revolutionized orthodontics, and patients love how comfortable and effective the treatment is.

Common questions
How long does Invisalign treatment take?+

Treatment time varies depending on your specific case and how complex your bite issues are. Most patients complete treatment in 12 to 18 months, though some cases may be shorter or longer. Wearing your aligners as directed is key to staying on schedule.

Will wearing Invisalign trays hurt?+

You may feel some pressure or mild discomfort for a few days when you switch to a new set of trays. This is normal and means the aligners are working. Most patients find Invisalign much more comfortable than traditional braces.

How often do I need to wear my aligners?+

For the best results, you should wear your aligners 20 to 22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss. Compliance is the most important factor in achieving your desired outcome on time.
